LL: It is a good thing that Bob got such a big raise. He likes to live large!

LH: what do u mean by living large?

LL: By living large, I mean Bob likes to buy expensive things, wear the best
clothes, and eat out at fancy restaurants.

LH: I like to live large too。

LL: Right. And Bob does live large. The minute after he heard about his new
raise, Bob went out and bought a brand new Mercedes.

LH: Wow，he spent a lot. a brand new Mercedes costs a lot! but u know what, ppl like to live
large, one of my friends just bought a house with 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.

LL: Wow, maybe someday, I'll be able to live large, too.

LH: I don't know you, but I won't ever dream of that. Salary in our industry is low.

LL: I don't earn that much at my job either. I will need more than one big
raise to be able to live large. I'll need several raises!

me: Hey June, It's you 'month', how r u feeling?
June-I am feeling good. you know why?
me: nope, why?
June-coz every year in this month my ex-boy friends have to mention my name at least once a day. they'll have to remember me forever. [em08]

me: laughing. i got you. you parents were so bright to name u June.
June: yap, they were. I told them this was the best thing they've ever did for me :)
me: well, i guess if im going to have a daught i will name her Friday.
June: ???
me: coz every friday ppl will say: Thank God It's Friday. I Love Friday!

talk with my collegue who originally from HK, and who just had a trip back from China

me: how was ur trip?
K: it was great. I went back HK and stayed with my grandma for a week, then I went to Shanghai and Zhongshan.
me: you went to shanghai? it's my hometown!
k: really? I don't know that.
me: yep. so did u had dam crab there? it's my favorite.
k: no. my friend did n't tell me that. but i had crocodile in zhongshan.
me: crocodile? r u serious?
k: yep. it sounds odd but taste good, haha
me: well. don't tell me u had monkey too....
k: no no i didn't. i dare not to even take a look at these things.....

me: hey Joe, I heard that you've traveled to houston a lot. Is it a good place to live?
Joe: you r going to leave?
me: i'm just thinking about that. havn't decide yet.
Joe: well, personally i don't like houston.
me: why? because of the weather? i heard it's hot there.
Joe: not only the weather.
Joe: do u like George？
me: who? George Washington?
Joe: (smile) no, George Bush.
me: not really.
Joe: then don't move to houston. ppl there r just like him

me: how was the wedding (u attended) ?
boss: oh, it's so odd.
boss: the wedding was at 7 in the night. and the reception was from 8 to 10. no dance. and the food was aweful.
me: really?
boss: they only served cheese and potato. can you believe that?
me: that's very rare.
boss. yes it is unusual. before this wedding, all the wedding i had attended were jewish wedding, and i always had fun. but this one was so weird. i don't think they had spent more than $500 on this wedding.
me: $500 on a wedding is a way too cheap.
boss. yep. they probably cost less then me, for the gift i bought for them and the plan ticket i paid.
me: but at least u've got see u college friends.
boss: that's true. and i had so much fun with them.
