David Beckham will play Saturday for the Los Angeles Galaxy in an exhibition against Chelsea despite his injured ankle, sources tell ESPN.

Beckham, who will be in Denver for the MLS All-Star Game Thursday, will probably not start, but will play because he understands the importance of his first appearance with the Galaxy, according to sources.
