他想申请美国或者加拿大的商学院，请问各位有什么好的建议？先

红豆MM能说说具体情况和目标吗? 这样大家就好提建议了~~~

当然是美国的学校多选择多......不过想读书期间顺便换个“蓝皮”一级护照，一边读书一边做移民监加拿大也是不错选择

当然如果他很有抱负的话, 应该选顶级的学校, 千万不要凑和.

是这样，他大学念的是计算机，本科毕业，想到美国或者加拿大去念硕士。不过看他那样也好像没有很强硬的非要念商学院的样子，各位也可以根据他的情况给个中肯的意见。是不是本科念计算机，再接着念计算机会更好一点呢？现在念计算机还有好的出路吗？

计算机我不懂, 不过商学院的话尽量念好学校吧, 否则找工作太麻烦了, 很多好公司都是ON CAMPUS RECRUITING, 上不好的学校连敲门转都没有, 切身痛苦的体会呀!

Actually what I think is what he really wants to do?

If he doesn't like coding and facing computer all day then PHD in CS is not a good choice for him.
If he doesn't like business and would like to stay in his study instead of going out and talk to diffrent people, what MBA can help him?

what I think is he needs to plan what he really wants to do and decide which major/career he will go for then he can ask people for better advice to realize his plan and dream.

If he is good at CS and loves it, I think he can always land a job.
For MBA it also needs you to have the potential, in all, to make money for the boss.

If you can do something and make money for the company, you can get a job.:)

Actually lots of CHinese students went to top 10 from CHina, I guess you need a nice GMAT and nice work experience.

我半只脚在B school里面，本来我今年秋季会去一个top5的B school念PhD，B school的PhD的就业面太窄，牛校的毕业生大部分都是留在academia，极少数可能进consulting或者investment banks。二流学校就只有到社区大学去教书，或者回国当教授了。
对于MBA的话，top5都是大批量生产的，每年每个学校都会有几百个新生，其中中国人也不占少数，保守一点至少10个，我是指直接从国内来的。
不论PhD还是MBA，不是名校的，工作很难找，除非本身就是公司资助，毕业后回到原来公司。我们学校的MBA排名虽有20,但是就业情况还是一塌糊涂，中国人全部待业，去年毕业的都回了国。即使是美国人也只有少数拿到60k左右的年薪。60K是什么概念，我们学校engineering school硕士毕业平均薪水就超过了60k。MBA薪水那么低，就是因为供大于求。
算一下，前10名学校，每个毕业200人，就是2000人，2000个职位，对于MBA的market来说太多了，当然我是指具一定规模的公司。算到500强的话，要每个公司都有4个空缺才够用。可能吗？所以说对于二流的学校，根本没有什么机会。

in 2000, it is different story.
I know Chinese students from some not so good MBA school -most of them get job.
like GE,energy company etc.>60K in TX.

You've already been in u.s now. The application is different from those who are still in China.

PhD的就业面太窄，牛校的毕业生大部分都是留在academia，极少数可能进consulting或者

Doctoral students in b-school are trained to be faculties, that's why they will work in academia.

Where did you get this idea? Besides those "top schools", there are a lot of teaching schools in u.s, which are way different from community colleges.

Do you think 10 is a big number? If you think you are the best, I have nothing to say. But for most people, the chance to get into is very limited.

That's true. For tier 2 school graduates, it's hard to get into Fortune 500. But if you want to teach in harvard b-school or work in some "famous" companies, you are not at the same level with me. And I think, it is beyond most chinese students' expectation.

I don't want to argue with you. I think, maybe you are one of those best, but this doesn't mean those "average" people (including me) can not get a decent job /life here.

你所有说的都很对，但是有一个观念不对，申请学校和工作并不是讲资历的，讲的是你的申请的技巧，运气也是很重要的，我敢说在国内有成千上万的人比现在在哈佛，沃顿的中国人水平高，但是却申请不到一个学校或者去了差一点的学校。我自己也完全不是牛人，我国内本科的GPA只有3.0，纯粹靠的是运气。
对于MBA的就业情况，我也都是听我的朋友们说得，是大多数人的感觉，不是绝对的，二流学校当然会有人找到工作，也会有比一流学校更好的工作，但是比较的总体上的。
另外，我个人认为只要你认真的找工作，坚持不懈，意志坚强，一定能找到满意的工作，不管你是什么学校，什么背景。EQ远远比IQ重要，就像桑普拉斯说的，网球世界排名前一百的选手水平都没什么区别，不一样的就是心理素质。
