China Rate Increase

1stPhoneCard.com has received confirmed information that the rate to China will increase by up to 40% on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 by the service carriers China Telecom and China NetCom. However, we have not received confirmation from any of our phone card providers as to when they increase their China rates and by how much. Once we receive the updated rate information for our phone cards, we will post them on our web site and send emails to our customers about the changes.

美中电话接线费 大涨三成
中国电信酝酿涨价多时终实施 昨起生效 电话卡「便宜」不再


　【本报记者姚增馨纽约报导】打国际长途电话回中国大陆的费率，15日悄悄的提高了。根据中国电信向业者发出的通知，由美国打到中国大陆各地的接线费，都将调高30％，15日起正式生效。

　目前，市面上有不少的便宜电话卡，想要打电话回大陆，可以用五元买到一张能讲 290分钟不扣分的电话卡，平均算下来，每分钟所需费用还不到两分钱，比打美国国内长途电话还便宜。

　2002 年 11 月中国电信突然宣布将海外通话收费提高五到八倍，在两岸三地和海外华人中曾引发反弹。

　据当时来自香港的报导，那次调价的背景是，中国电信在纽约证券交易所上市募股计画受阻，国际配售仅六、七成认购，公司方面想通过单方面提高费率提高帐面利润，以利股票在海外顺利上市。

　由于香港各界对中国电信突然调价反弹强烈。最后，在海外巨大压力下，中国电信被迫撤销了对香港地区的调价，但依然维持其它地区的资费调整。

　总部设在纽约市布碌仑地区的电话卡供应商中原电信的老板刘信秀表示，中国电信是中国唯一的一家经营国际长途电话的电信公司，旗下虽有各省的电信公司，但基本上没有竞争性，所以订价策略与美国一般电信公司透过市场竞争来订价的方式不同，涨起价来方式也不同。

　中原电信在 13 日收到中国电信的通知，说明自 15 日起，中原电信缴给中国电信的费用要增加30％，中原电信因此自 14 日起开始逐步调整计算机，凡属于中原电信的电话卡，都调涨 25％。

　刘信秀指出，中国电信涨 30％，中原电信并未全部反映，而是只涨25％，主要原因是竞争，但他不知道还能自行吸收多久。

　刘信秀说，如果中国电信还要涨价，他也不知道能不能再继续自行吸收，以及吸收多少。

涨三成不多啊，应该感觉不到什么。现在就算3分钱一分钟，涨三成不过4分钱一分钟。比上次一下涨100成要好多了。呵呵。

俺昨天打了，好像还是一样价钱。
