实在太忙啦，站庆咱们就搞个小活动8

看到不少jm问怎么和同事交流，工作之外说些什么话题，那么这次的主题就small talk8

要求及奖励方式：

列出一个small talk 的topic，金钱 魅力 经验 各 10  topic不得重复

topic 以外，附上对话，金钱 魅力 经验 各 30  同一个topic可以写多个对话

鼓励实战经验，如果是和同事间的真实对话（也可以是同事间的对话），金钱 魅力 经验 各 50，同一个id写5个以上对话，另外嘉奖 金钱 魅力 经验 各 100

鼓励有经验的jm介绍心得经验，奖励各项指标50--100，好文章另外加精华加额外奖励

奖励不封顶，多写多奖。参加活动请直接在这个帖子后跟贴，一个对话一层楼，以方便我们发奖。所有对话必须用英文，中文的不算。所有奖励活动结束后统一发放（可能会提前，不过不guarantee）。没有拿到奖励的请在活动结束后一个礼拜后再给我们发短信，不然就不回了哈

这个话题比较多啊,比如说

1.要出去度假,你就可以问/说之前的准备;

2.度假回来之后,你就可以问"度"的怎么样;

3.女同事之间可以说说shopping啊,哪里有deal什么的...

4.同事直接互问周末的安排

5.一起出去吃饭谈论各地美食

版主,我可以拿多少奖励?那是要一楼一个对话呢?还是都可以写在一起比较晕,指点一下我再加啊.

我也来说几个。具体对话记不清了，就说topic吧。其实我觉得主要是idea，说上了就好了。

1。比如前天我的同学就说好朋友的爸爸第二天要去医院检查心脏，不能来。今天就问候一下，她很高兴的告诉我没有大事。

2。我表姐的小孩子满月了，拍了照片发给我，因为我的labmate很喜欢小孩子，正好她在我旁边，就叫她一起看，又聊了不少。

3。讨论周末去哪里玩了，地方怎么样。

4。新去的饭馆，还有自己喜欢的餐馆什么的。

5。如果看到别人新穿了衣服，就问一句，说：“Wow, you got a new shirt!" 然后说说' Match your clothe‘或者’match your hair' 啥的。

还有一些，想起来再加。

Me: So how is their summer be like?

She: They are first gonna attend a camping, just half a hour away. They still go home every day. Then they and their father are gonna go to Montana (their father's hometown).

She: I have to work. :(

Me: How is Chicago (where the conference took place)? You had a tour there?

He: It is beautiful with the lake, you know, Lake Michigan. And great food.

Depends on the answer, watch movie, go visit relativies, hiking somewhere or go to a restaurant, you could then expand the talk to more detailed information

She:How is your vacation back to China?

Me: Excellent. I had great food.

She: Did you travel around?

Me: No. I stayed at home most of the time but I did go to Shanghai and Hangzhou.

She: Wow. Are they beautiful?

Me: Soso, so many people. Again, great food.

She: Oh, it is the food you cared most about.

Me: Exactly. The environment is not as good. Never saw blue sky.

2. 实在想不起什么Topic 就叫 - 街上偶遇：

早上在公车上偷听到的：

A: Hey, How are you?

B: Hey, didn't know you take this bus too!

A: Yeh, me too. Where do you live now?

B: I live in XXX.

A: Oh yeh, that's a nice place. Do you know a bar/restaurant named Jame's XXX in 185 street?

B: Oh, you mean Jackie's XXX. yeh, i've been there twice. I am not big into the music there.

A: Oh yeh, me neither. So what kind of music do you listen to?

B: you know i sing Jazz now. i have lots of friends also playing Jazz.

A: wow I didn't know that. We had a Thursday Jazz night in my restaurant the other day, so many artists come to try. there is even a guy playing XXX outside. it's so funny! People come from everywhere, the place was so crowded. you should come!

B: that's great, next time you must let me know. I could introduce someone who could play there.

A: yeh, of course!

第一次参加活动！

我要贡献几个我和小米的对话。小米比较能说，我们常在msn上聊天，所以话题很多。平时任何的事情，工作上的或者非工作上的都能说的很多。

第一个：我收到一个名叫Joe Cool的人的email，问我要一份我做的报告。我觉得比较可疑，就问小米，小米告诉我这是一个骚扰信件。以下是我们的对话。

小米 says:I just assumed that you knew that Joe Cool is a fake name.  It's highly unlikely that it is a real name.  It's like saying his name is John Doe (used for unknown people) or Mickey Mouse.  When you told me his name was Joe Cool, I almost laughed.  That is the name that Snoopy (of the comic strip Peanuts) uses sometimes when he wears his black leather jacket.

It's like if you want to pretend you're cool and you put on someone's black leather jacket and dark sunglasses, you can make a joke and say, "I'm Joe Cool."

Joe can mean "any guy" in general.  Like you can say "He's not just some Joe off the street.  He's a (someone important) doctor, senator, lawyer, etc." 

Joe can also mean coffee when you say "a cup of Joe".

I hope I'm not confusing you.

there used to be a show called Average Joe

do you remember that?

it means average guy

for girls, the average girl is called Jane

like Jane Doe is an unknown girl usually used for dead people

i remember once in the ABC or NBC news i saw that they went to find the real "average Joe" in America. i don't remember exactly what their methodology was but it ended up on a guy working in Ohio as some kind of factory worker, maybe a carpenter or sth.

小米 says:

Plain Jane is an average looking girl

lol  yeah.  on the Ave. Joe show the guys were really geeky looking.  People were saying that they were below average.

is there a phrase for people who really is at the bottom? like Ugly Betty or something? lol

小米 says:Dog is a word for a really ugly person

Like "She's a dog."

第二个：我问小米一些电视剧的名字是什么意思。

another title got me wondering is "playing chicken" - is there a phrase somewhere, too?

oh, when you're a kid and you "play chicken" it's a game to see who is "chicken" which means someone who is afraid or a "scaredy cat"

but it's dangerous most times

why it's dangerous? how is it played?

like 2 kids ride their bikes toward each other ready to crash into each other.  that's playing chicken

the one who turns away loses

b/c they are chicken

is that game popular among kids? that's really dangerous!
