Give out a reason about your famiy/personal issue... A friend of mine did this for two times and it worked. Although it is not really profesional/ethnical/professional, if you really want to withdraw from the first offer, you might have to do so...

accepting an offer means a valid contract. I agree with loverene mm. If you really have/want to withdraw, unless they are really short of people, they'll let you go, I guess[em08]

The job is usually at will by default unless you have signed some contact with them. You may withdraw at any time and they may also let you go at any time even after you start working.

You may want to give them some reason if you withdraw. Just to be polite and don't burn the bridge.

Agree. If you read your offer carefully, you may find something like "xxx and you may terminate the relationship at anytime, "blah, blah.
