Majority of the candidates who are eligible to sit for the exam have a Master's degree due to the 150-credit-hour rule. Master's classes don't help you much with the exam, especially if your undergraduate degree is not accounting. Becker is a good review class, even though it is not cheap. I thought it worth the money to take it. However, the key is that you need to have the determination, discipline and persistence on passing the exam. Set some objectives for yourself, and working toward them.

Again, this is personal preference. Online and self-study are cheaper but requires more discipline from the candidates.  Live classes are more expensive, but offer the structure and feedback that you may not find with the online or self study format. I chose the live class format because it like the structure and thought it would increase my chance of passing all parts on the first try.

You don't need to worry about it at this time. I thought it's too early for you. After you get to learn more about your school classes, and talk with your friends around you, you'll learn much more about the CPA exam.

What you learned at school just laid a good foundation for you. Most ppls will use the cpa review materials to help them grasp the materials and pass the exam, cause the review materials like Becker is more exam oriented.

It took less than two weeks for my state board to approve my application.

Some states boards, like mine, allow you to apply for the exam before you graduate, in condition that your school is a good school and you will prove your graduation by sending the board a final transcript upon your graduation.

But they won't allow you too early to apply. One of my friends applied last December, and was denied the very first time, because you can only apply within 5 months before graduation. Yet, I guess the requirement will be a little different from state to state. So you should ask your professors or call your state board to figure that out.
