no experience either. But congratulations too! Why don't you talk to those managers in other group and get some advices? After I joined the group, I kind of get to learn more about works, office politics and some other stuff. Managers don't need that much technical expertise anymore, all that matters is, like you said, is thair ability to coordinate to nails things done. I heard co-workers talked about that sometimes, like if you can cooperate things well, you can be a really good manager. But, they do take on more responsibilities and sometimes if they don't perform well, they can be over-stressed...
