呵呵,讨论过了, 那个大胡子应该就是JACK老爸说的那个JACK春天带回家的那个人,JACK还要跟LP离婚,总之他的事情被当地人发现了,就被类似反同组织给打死了.

LUREEN抱着家丑不可外扬的观念在电话里和ENNIS撒了慌说JACK是意外事故而死, 她当时只知道JACK是个GAY被人打死但并不知道渊源是在ENNIS那里. 她的声音面容都很冷酷,也许是因为JACK的事情给她带来的不仅是感情上的痛苦也是名誉上的耻辱. 直到ENNIS告诉她BBM,那个被JACK称为天堂的地方,就是他们二十年前放羊的地方,LUREEN才一下子醒悟到电话那一头的那个男人就是JACK热恋了二十年的爱人,所以她的眼泪充满了眼眶但什么也没有明说. LUREEN也是个很坚强的女人,是个悲剧角色.

every time i think about lureen, "depressed" is the word that comes to my mind. of course Lureen is a tragic character, but who isn't in BBM? Jack, Ennis, Alma, Lureen, Jack's parents, even Ennis' parents, ..., they are tragic characters one way or another. but there are hopes, in the next generation, i.e., the generation that Alma Jr. represents...

I think Lureen loves Jack very much, but she doesn't know how to make their marriage work. Poor Lureen.

Do you really think that Ennis married Alma because 他还是想负责任,以为跟ALMA结婚是对她最好的表示? I don't think so. I feel that he married Alma because he wanted to be "normal". (He could have had a normal life if he did not meet Jack.) And it's the same reason that had driven him dated Cassie.

I think his father was trying to teach him to be a homophobic, not to hate homosexuals.
