领ss和人在哪里没关系

记得以前讨论过，结论是，要拿SS，中国公民必须有在美国的合法身份，绿卡出境超过半年就可能失去合法身份。

非美国公民离境超过半年，要想再领ss benefit，必须回美国居住满至少一个月。
有不少国家的公民可以豁免这条，目前来说，我查的结果中国不在有协议的国家名单内。

是的。悲催的中国公民不在豁免名单里。到时候绿卡拒绝入境，以前工作的credit就都打水漂了。

这不写的清清楚楚中国公民只要干满40个点就可以领吗？你们都在看啥？

你这一段前面还有条件的:

If you aren’t a U.S. citizen, you also may have to prove you were lawfully present in the United States for that 30-day period. If you aren’t a U.S. citizen or you do not meet one of the conditions for continued payments, we will stop your payments after you have been outside the United States for six full calendar months.Once this happens, we cannot start your payments again until you come back and stay in the United States for a full calendar month.


你对“outside the United States”的理解不对。这个不是说随便在境外呆多久都没关系，而指的是你出境不超过6个月，回美国呆至少一个月。这个跟保持绿卡的有效性要求一致。
问题是即使在境外呆不超过6个月，回来的时候入境官以某种理由拒绝你入境，那就没有办法满足这个条件了。后果自己想吧。

所以我的理解是，绿卡在境外不超过6个月，可以继续领，超过6个月，不回来呆至少一个月，就没了。

你mark的红字部分是给你解释什么叫outside the united states，不是conditions，conditions在后面。

对，所有后面的conditions，都是在这个特殊的"outside the united states"的定义基础上展开的。这个 "outside the united states"，根本不是我们大家平时所理解的。

这有什么难理解的？你看目录那一页，大标题是很清楚了啊。没人说中国公民在美国境外不是outside the united states啊，判断出来了outside the united states只要meet其中一个condition就可以了啊，中国公民就是condition 4，这个很难理解吗？我怎么觉得很好理解啊，比GRE GMAT容易多了。
