Finally got my rose otto last weekend. I missed the group buy so I have been looking around the web for some time. Finally chose this seller because they imported directly from the rose valley, they got this year's harvest and they have official certificate.
I did not know my nose can remember a scent from long time ago until I open the little amber bottle. Yes, still this lingering, sweet, poet-like fragrance. When I was very little, my uncle brought some rose otto back from the rose valley, Bulgaria. It was in this elegantly crafted wooden (strange, but that is what I remembered) bottle. it was the first time I heard the word "liquid gold". it was also the first time I experience such a lovely scent, so pure, so dreamy, so.. happy, like it contains the memory of all the roses blooming under the first ray of sun in this tranquille green valley.
Somehow I can't allow myself to blend rose otto with any other oil though I know it works well with a lot of them. I made it 1.5% in rice bran and my face totally loves it. it seems to sooth the red pathes I occationaly have in spring.
it is expensive to be sure, but I consider it money well spent.....
