Have you tried drinking milk before going to bed? Usually when your brain is too active during the daytime, you tend to dream more at night. Try think less while you are awake .
Some days when I got too excited, I dreamed a lot of things that did not really happen during the day. My dreams are always like movies/novels too...what is weird to me is that I've had the same dream several times. But I've noticed that if I am too exhausted before going to bed, I tend to sleep very well...although I may still dream a lot, I won't remember any when I wake up. So another suggestion is that try to do more things and make yourself tired enough to sleep tight .
