i m still not sure about 529 plan and scholarship. i heard奖学金没关系，会影响助学金

anyway我一直考古，但是我很笨，没kg出个清晰的结论

终于看见华人宝宝秀啦！

我经常想告诉小小妈的就是，两个儿子怕什么，小小鸟的幸福日子就是您的楷模哈！

in our state we have a "lottary" program

which means if you can keep your grade above C then your wont pay anything except textbooks for the universitys in the state which encourage more kids to go to college

but i dont know what kind is this program, is it a scholarship or something, i need to find out .....

well i need to talk to you, can you give me a call?

i was shocked too, but you know my state's education level is low, so the government is trying to do a lot of things to encourage people to get higher education

so i dont know if its good or not to live in a low-education level state

i think so, from 9yue's post...or relatives, am i right？

but if it is only for investing, i do think i have a lot more ways to make my money dan4 sheng1 dan4 than this program. and 529 is kinda limited sounds to me

am i right?

one elementary school in my district is kinda the best in this big area. and one high school which used to have bad reputation but now got into top how many in the country.

but we think as another way, it is really EASY for an asian kid to be top student here and high schools here, like every school else, top students will always have chances to go to harvard or whatever. cuz top students will have a great record. what did it say? prefer to be chicken head rather than dragon tail? and as top students, they get a lot more chances for all kinds of national activities for students, i always read it on our town newspaper.

so if in my family education is always the top priority, i cross my fingers to say, i have the confidence that lian lian will be top around here, then in fact she gets better chance to get into first class colleges....but if she's in a really really really good shool with a whole bunch of smart kids, im not sure if she can make it.....

this is our very selfish thoughts.

i still want to check the university programs here first

i m not hot on 529 but if its good i dont want to miss the chance

the top university here is pretty good, and as long as she keeps her grade above C....heiheiheihei

but even my family is not that rich, since we have our own companies, there are still a lot of ways to play with it

i got contacts who are in the music teacher association in this area, including all school music teachers and private teachers

so i forced them to fpromise to ind a teach in next two years for lianlian

thats so true. thats why though one of the high school squeezed into top what, i still dont want to send her there, becuz they used to have bad reputations in gangs

so there is another high school here whose acedemic scores are not high enough to make top, but i know a lot of teachers there, and kids there are more disiplined

and here, in my town, all the kids that the regular high schools cant deal with (like gangs, teenager mothers,students who never do their homework, etc.) will be sent to a special high school. you can say it is discrimination, but they get more attention there,(kinda like a special needs school), they have special teachers and extremaly patient experts there to help those kids. so that make me feel  a lot better sending her to the regular school.

my husband believes that they will have lianlian skip first or second grade

cuz he blindly believes that she will read better than 3rd grade students by the time she gets to kindergarten
