看到好多帖子信息都是几年前的老贴了，所以特地发个新帖子来跟踪下南加州的2017的timeline。

本人是F1来的美国，现在是H1B，和公民结婚申请绿卡。因为自己对处理政府文件很有经验（天天跟IRS打交道，对政府的尿性了如指掌。。。），所以全程自己DIY，最后赶在移民局涨价前提交了文件。我住在orange county，处理中心应该会是santa ana。

12/19/2016 寄到芝加哥，USPS显示delivered
01/03/2017 支票被cash，明明有要求email notification，但是木有收到任何的notification
01/09/2017 收到四封notice，priority date是12/20/2016
01/16/2017 收到01/23/17打指纹的notice
01/23/2017 打指纹成功
01/27/2017 网上显示ready to schedule interview，感觉自己好快啊，终于走运了一回

很多帖子里每份申请表格写一份checklist，四个申请足足写了四份，每个item要单独列一个bullet，每个bullet的名字还是冗长累赘的全称，SSN写成social security card， EAD写成employment authorization document 。这完全是没有必要好吗。。。这是天天跟表格缩写打交道的移民局，对所有的字母和数字的缩写都烂熟于心，再说cover letter只是个summary而已，你写上四份，政府人员才没时间和心情看无限重复的四份内容，以为自己写的很详细，其实政府人员看一眼就晕头转向直接丢到旁边。附上我的cover letter作为参考，是不是cover letter里的一股清流。。。
