Gaetz withdraws: Former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz announced he is withdrawing from consideration as President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general. Trump praised Gaetz, saying his pick didn’t “want to be a distraction” for his administration. Gaetz’s decision comes a day after met with GOP senators on Capitol Hill and as he faced scrutiny over sexual misconduct allegations.
