Not quite sure.  My feeling is that you will still have a valid F1 even if your application for H1B or F1 is denied.  After all, you F1 status comes from your spouse. The denial of the new application does not automatically invalid the old application for F2.  I think that the two applications are separate and based on different grounds.  Anyway, it is just my personal opinion.  Make sure to talk to a lawyer to get the right answer.
