我手机里的每一首歌，都是从书房壁橱中架子上的某张唱片中拷贝出来的。电子的东西太冰冷，手里要拿着实物，才有满足感。很向往街上响着Swings，听收音机，每个人都写信的那个年代。一纸书信哪怕时过境迁，也能在字里行间触摸到那个人的气息。Thomas “Fats” Waller是我最喜欢的Stride Piano Player，我在读大学的时候，一次在Amazon上买东西，误打误撞的买了一张他的compilation，从此就爱上了那些在琴键上跳跃的音符。Fats Waller是跟另外一位跳跃钢琴的大师James P. Johnson学的琴，他除了琴技精湛以外，也是一位出众的Entertainer，在他留下的唱片中收录有许多standards，如：Honeysuckle Rose、Squeeze Me、Crazy ‘Bout My Baby、Ain’t Misbehavin’，等等。I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself Letter是我很喜欢的一首歌，每次听这首歌的时候我都会想到在某一间狭小的公寓中的写字台上亮着一盏灯，有人伏案写着一封信。
