言简意赅，短短150页 就梳理了欧洲史的脉络，讲清楚历史事件之间的必然和联系。

很喜欢书中的图表，没有长篇累牍的叙述每个历史故事。觉得对理解今天西方世界有点帮助。

篇幅极短，不亏是shortest。而且英文非常简单，很好读。​
