I followed the link above and read some of the comments. I felt that if you *WANT* to make a phone explode, you have hundreds of ways to do it. BUT it's totally different from an explosion during the normal phone usage. I think this comment makes sense.

I took a closer look at the second set of pictures sent after OP edited the post. I don't know if someone's intentionally hiding what really happened or just clueless.
My observation, Something poked through the package, through the box hit the back of the phone, bent the aluminum case, damaged the battery. If anyone here doesn't know Lithium Batteries do not like being bent or punctured. No nothing blew out the box do not tell me that shit. There would be a big gaping hole through the back of the phone if something inside exploded out.
