Pate is a French delicacy, and it makes an excellent appetizer. My oh my, talking about it will make me drool. That's our (GG+me) favorite appetizer when we go to those nice French restaurants. Cut a small chunk and spread it on top of a piece of French bread, @___@ hmmm......I just love the rich, smokey flavor, and the smooth texture.

Goose pate is considered superior among all the pates by most people. However, instead you get more pates made from duck liver and pig liver in the states. They are nice to eat too, as long as they've been well seasoned.

I am afraid what you ordered was foie gras, it's a kind of original and classic goose liver pate, not the same as normal pates people refer to. It's made by force feeding geese figs to get the rich and creamy texture. Well, no need to tell you the truth again, it's not yummy at all, and just disgusting to eat.

Next time, try pate instead, you won't regret!!
