I do feel that the contents of your 1st job is more important.  In my case, I accumulated good experience though my 1st job is with a smaller company.  As for salary, you may have some disadvantage.  However, as far as I know, most big companies tie positions with salary range.  Therefore you may be given a lower point at the range, but it won't be way too much off (a couple of thousands, I guess).
