normally mentors like to see you ask questions. My personal experience is that i'd rather give him a multiple choice (means I thought about it) than an open minded question.

for instance:

should I send it to the CFO only or the entire group? I thought that it might be too premature to send this idea to everybody,but isn't it how everybody else does all the time, no?

instead of: who should I send it to?
