If you were worried that the Apple rumor mill would run out of material after the release of the third generation iPad, rest assured – we’ve still got the iPad Mini, the Apple iTV, and the upcoming iPhone 5 to speculate about.
In fact, there’s an all new iPad Mini rumor today, coming to you straight from a supposed Samsung official, who was quoted by the Korea Times. According to this official Apple is going to be releasing a smaller iPad, possibly by the end of 2012.
And that little iPad? It’s going to use 7.85-inch displays manufactured by Samsung, a guess that’s not too far off since Samsung is supplying the panels for Apple’s current normal-sized iPad that will be released this Friday.
Personally, I think the rumors of an iPad Mini are just wishful thinking. It’s possible that Apple is working on a prototype, but there’s no guarantee that the project will see the light of day. According to rumors, it would have a smaller bezel, making it more like an iPhone and less like a tablet. That sounds an awful lot like the Galaxy Note, which has been criticized for its awkward size.
Do you agree? Will Apple come out with a smaller sized tablet, or is this one rumor that won’t come to fruition?
