Hi, 我OPT七月过期，准备转F２，看到I－５３９的instruction上说“Therefore, we suggest you file at least 45 days before your stay expires or as soon as you determine your need to change or extend status. ”请问这个your stay expires是指OPT过期的日子还是60天grace period的最后一天？谢谢。因为最近要更新护照，护照明年五月过期，已经尽可能最早跟新了，但是收到新护照要到6月了，怕不符合这个提前四十五天的要求。还有一个问题就是请问，如果先提交申请，然后再补交新护照会不会有什么影响？

不需要45天前申请。只要身份过期那天申请寄到移民局就行了。45天只是建议。

你身份是在grace period最后一天才过期。

身份延期申请不需要提交护照，只需要填护照号码和过期日期。
