Voir Dire is the process of interviewing potential jurors, a preliminary interview where each side gets to talk to the jury. This is a key part of how lawyers pick jurors. It affords the attorney the opportunity to work out bias, pick those jurors that will most benefit their case, and eliminate those who present a danger or a problem.

They key in voir dire is to keep the jurors talking. If the attorney is doing too much of the talking, that’s a real problem. You don’t learn anything by listening to yourself. That’s why attorneys will keep their questions brief and to the point, and will follow up to guide a conversation with the juror. It’s all about seeing through the masks that everyone wears on a daily basis, and finding the truth underneath.

Attorney General Ken Paxton will face lawyers for the men who accused him of securities fraud seven years ago in a one-hour deposition after the November elections.

The Dallas Morning News reported Thursday that Collin County District Court Judge Cynthia Wheless ordered Paxton to sit for the deposition on Nov. 28, three weeks after the culmination of Paxton’s reelection race. He is running against Democrat Rochelle Garza.

Regretfully, still-indicted Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is at it again. It's still not clear why Paxton even remains in office, seven years after he was indicted on felony state security fraud charges and two years after multiple top members of his own attorney general's office accused him of bribery and abuse of office. We can only presume it's because Texas Republicans are, as a group, so corrupt that bribery and securities fraud doesn't raise an eyebrow for them—and anyone looking for evidence to the contrary there is in for a tough, tough search.

但是，作为前总统，除非有叛国等罪名，还是应该有点司法方面的特权的。这也是为了政治斗争不要太low.

不要说法律面前人人平等。美国总统还有特赦权。每次下台都特赦一堆人。
