11 people shot near Southern University and A&M College, police say

Eleven people were shot overnight Friday near Southern University and A&M College in Louisiana, police said. 

Baton Rouge police responded to a report of a shooting around 1:50 a.m. local time (2:50 a.m. ET) in the 600 block of Harding Boulevard, on the edge of the Southern University and A&M College campus. Investigators believe the shooting was "an isolated incident" with no ongoing threat to the university campus.

Three people are dead, including the gunman, after a shooting at a St. Louis high school Monday morning sent multiple people to hospitals, police said.

Chaos unfolded shortly after 9 a.m. when authorities learned of a shooter with a long gun inside Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. The school and the Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience, which is in the same building, were placed on lockdown.
