There are lots of international employees in my company. My previous officemate is from South America and he would speak Spanish with other Latino. I learned a few Spanish words from him. Another American guy married a Chinese and he likes to speaking Chinese to me.

I guess it depends on your company culture. Bottom line is that you don't have to be too sensitive to your native language. Of course I wouldn't engage in lengthy conversations in Chinese or do it all the time.
