How come H4 get OPT? I think only F1s are eligible for OPT. Any way, I went back during OPT with F1, which I got in Canada.

There shouldn't be big problem to get H4 any time. But once you come in with H4, you will lose your OPT and can't work unless tranferring to H1. Just my $0.02.

I didn't make any special preparement, except all the paper work, i.e. I-20, offer letter, etc. it went smoothy when i got the visa, no hard question asked. but you are right, it is still risky, and there still are chances you might get rejected.

as long as your LG is with H1, you should have not problem to get H4 given everything goes smoothly.
