en, how come I have the opposite impression? Big firm like to layoff ppl once there is a situation, while small firms tend to work things out by trying not to layoff ppl. (laying off ppl during downturn, then try to hiring ppl in upturn is quite expensive)However, small firms usually lower ppl's salary, forced vacation, etc. Both have their pros and cons.
