I have：
-a power jigsaw($30) and 2 sorted blades($4-5), 2 sets of hold saws($10)
-coldless cirular saw
drill
detail sander, 3 in 1($40)
-2 sorted drill bits and drill bit holder($12?)
-routor(plus cutter accessories)($40)
router speed controllor, $12
1 set of router bits(6 pieces, $10. i like one set with 24 pieces, $50)
-2 set of clamps($10), 1 table clamp($9), 1 corner clamp($3)
-1 mini router with all kinds of accessories($80)
-hammer($5)
-1 set of tools(wrench, screw driver'n bit...)($15?)
-portable dry/wet vac($16)
-25' ruler($1), 3' sticker($3), 12" sticker($1), sticker'n projector set($9)
-markers and circle drawer($3)
-a set of craft knives($3)
-sander block($3) and sand paper($5)
-a set of detail files($5)
-a paint brush($3)
-a multimeter($3)
and most importantly
-a workbench, I designed and made it myself, costed me about $60. it can be used as
drill press($100+), a saw table($100), a router table($100), a miter saw table($200), a
grender($100), a table planer($200)... hehe, very cool and versatle.
-2 tool boxes($12) and a tool bag(free) for storage of your tools,
and last but not the least
-gloves, gargles, masks, for your own safty and health.
and you need nails, bolts, screws, utility boards, paints, glue...just about $10 for all.
So I put about $400 in it. and I haven't complete my tool collections yet, and the tools
are generally belonged to mid-profile ones, not the worst, not the highest profile ones I
am dreaming of either. But they pretty much satisfy my usage for the time being. if you
need better and more powerful tools(to build a house for example), and better
workbench, it's rather easy to go up $1000+. So he was telling you the truth. Think
about it, $500/$1000, and endless fun/more endless fun with ease. Worth it, right?
btw, I bought those tools when they are on sale, otherwise I would have paied at least
%30 more! And I can design and make my own tools which saves me a lot of $$$.(like
the workbench, saved me over $400!)
