there a lot of plastic surgeries with not "so minor" risks, like eyelids surgery(for double eyelids), there are so many nerves and vessels in that little thin skin that if one thing goes wrong, the consequences are huge. I don't know what the author of the first wives club died of, but if its only a "simple" chin remodification, i can think of major vessel(carotids and jugular veins) complications during the procedure, so be careful before you consider any plastics, there are many risks that you are not aware of or that docs will sit down and spend time to inform you of...
