After having a bad experience with the Elizabeth Arden Clear the Way Mask, I was hesitant to ever try another one. When I told the counter representative at Elizabeth Arden about my bad experience with that particular mask, and she recommended the Elizabeth Arden Deep Cleansing Mask in the periwinkle blue container, with the guarantee that I would be happy with the results.
How It Works
This mask is applied like a typical facial mask. Apply the mask after cleaning your face. Leave the mask on for approximately 10 minutes until the mask dries or hardens. This mask is a rinse off mask, which seems a bit difficult to do at times because the mask doesn’t rinse off very easily! That is the one minor complaint that I have with this and several other Elizabeth Arden’s skin care products. They seem to be a bit more difficult to rinse off (in comparison to Clinique, Lancome, and Origin skin care products), so I have to splash my face several times to completely rinse off. (Although it is as not as big of an issue in the shower, but when I rinse off over the bathroom sink, I make the floor, wall and everything else in site wet with all of that splashing!)
My Initial Reactions
I was a little bummed because the mask color is a white color with a greenish cast. I was hoping it would be the same color as the light bluish purple (periwinkle) colored container! I know that may sound silly, but if I’m going to slather something on my face for 10 whole minutes and let it dry, it would be cool to have it be a fun color!
The mask has a very cooling effect on your skin (it may even sting just a little initially, like toner). You can actually feel the mask as it cleanses the skin. It did wonders for my skin. My skin felt rejuvenated. The mask has a nice cooling effect, and a fresh, mint scent.
Ingredients: water, kaolin, magnesium aluminum silicate, butylene glycol, cetyl alcohol, tridecyl salicylate, beeswax, birch bark extract, bladderwrack extract, burdock extract, calendula officinalis extract, chamomile extract, cucumber extract, ginseng extract, watercress extract, glyceryl stearate, lecithin, lanolin alcohol, polysorborate60, sorbitan palmitate, xanthan gum, disodium edta, mineral oil, cyclohexasiloxane, methylparaben, proppylparaben.
Overall Results
I like the results of this mask. Although $15 seems a bit high for a 4-ounce mask, the results are worth it. I would recommend this mask to anyone who likes the results of deep cleaning pore strips (which can be short-term problem solvers), or other facial masks. My skin feels clean and refreshed after each use (I use it weekly). This mask is a 10 minute per week investment to glowing skin!
