Offer negotiation? Is it necessary?
Hi,

Just got my 1st offer, oral offer, pending background check.
As I have zero experience, would like to figure out a few basics :)

1. Who decides the exact terms of the offer? HR? or the hiring manager?

2. This is a relavtively big company, HR left me the impression that
the terms of the offer is decided according to the company's policy.
I haven't started negotations yet, as I am afraid of losing the offer :)
--- This is exactly my ideal job.
For big companies, is there some room for negotiation? Or zero?

3. How do I negotiate? Especially given that I want the job,
and they know that I loved the whole interviewing experience and
eager to join.

4. If I want to negotiate, who to talk to first?
the hiring manager, or the HR?

5. Does one have to negotiate? A friend told me that the
company would expect that, so it would be "stupid" if
I don't do it. Should I trust the company giving me
a fair evaluation and not listening to my friend?

6. Tried to search online for "typical" offers for this job,
but failed, as all the info. on those job sites is
too general to be helpful in my case.

Thanks for reading and please share your comments.

但是尽量在谈判以前准备好支持你提出工资水平的证据,

what qualifies as evidence?
