If you are not an employee in the company, they will pay you as a contractor for the service you performed, which means they won't match the FICA portion and deduct federal tax for you.

The threshold for the company to report the 1099 Misc income is $600. If your service is more than $600, you will receive a 1099 Misc from the company at the end of the year. This kind of income is taxable.
