Powerball $256 million ticket, first NYC jackpot win since 2020, sold in Flushing
For the first time since 2020, a winning Powerball jackpot has been sold in New York City.
The lucky winner of a ticket bought in Flushing, Queens has snagged a $256 million prize, or $123.5 million pre-tax if they want a onetime cash payout, said the Multi-State Lottery Association, which administers Powerball drawings, in a statement Sunday.
The winning numbers in Saturday’s drawing were 1, 31, 43, 55 and 57, with Powerball 22, and the ticket was sold at Hua Lian Supermarket on Parsons Boulevard, the New York Lottery said.
It was the first Powerball jackpot won in New York since 2020, the MSLA said. It was just one of 568,978 winning tickets sold across the U.S. that included a dozen tickets worth $50,000,
