If you have tried the 70-200/2.8 on FX, you'll know that there is really not much need to improve this lens.  Only at the corner the image quality degrades, but the center it's fabulous.  How many people would use F2.8 and require sharpness across the frame?

If N is coming out with a F4 version, that's more plausible.
