before if you can't get it in 90 days,you can go to local office to get ur temp ead card easily.

He grad in May and OPT is approved to be effect in July, and H-1 is approved to be effect in Oct.
SO he can work from Jult using OPT and from Oct he will be using his H-1.

Without his OPT,he can wait but can't work.

Because last years's cap is filled. so people has to wait for 2005's cap.It starts from Oct,1,2004, but the application is acceptted from April,1,2004 and several thousand of cases have been received.

By the way,H-1 7 days get approved, is it premium?

是的，是premium case，不过现在好像H1一点都不紧张的样子，一开始还弄得我提心吊胆的呢。

one day when we got green card, then we don't need to worry about these stupid things any more!

Even now, we have to be careful when LD and my first 3-years H-1 will expire and have to submit extension before it expire and things like that.

And some of my firends have to calculate the 6 years of H-1 and 7th year of H-1.
SO better do things as early as possible.

My LD give up his former one already and switch to one state which is faster.
Mine has been submitted last year and we worked on it from 2002 but still too long to go.My Lawyer said the LC still needs 1.5 year to go.
I guess once my Ld's got through, I may leave my LC to my company and let them give to another one maybe.

company did it for you.Actullay My company paid for it then I worked with my lawyer on it.
Depends on where you are, it could be fast and slow.
Unfornately , the state where LD and I are both are slow.
too sophiticated to explain leh, you can go over some website , or most simple, give it to lawyer.
