no no, you have to at least pass 1-2 actuarial exam to find a entry-level job...it's nothing about if you have good math background. as a mm mentioned previously "我学数学的朋友说做精算是他能找的最简单的工作了。"

and also if you have green card, it would be much easier for you to find an actuarial job

the exam fee and materials are not cheap. for the 1st one, it's almost just basic probablity problems, so it's pretty easy, but from the 2nd one, there will more economics added. you do need to study

In terms of salary, both options should be the same, the difference is career development. Personally I think 精算 has more career advancement than statistics, but it needs high level of writing skills later on as you become senior. if you really pass all the exam, acturial is definitely rewarding for money-wise

but just like you said, it requires good writing skills, and acturial is kind of boring in some way, more like a fixed career path... and you have to pass the exams in a certain period of time, otherwise the company won't keep you

老实说，精算的确是个好职业，很stable，经验越多，越吃香，而且，国内现在需求量应该很大，

如果，比较实detail oriented的性格，很坐得住的人，我觉得这是个很好的职业选择，不会需要很多创造力

the acturial license don't need you take any course related to eco or business in college. YES

Big difference from acctounting. YES

Just go to the exam center to take it, is that all? YES,but of course, you need to study before the exam

精算已经不是没有绿卡也很找工作的市场了,而且竞争一点都不少,特别是现在大把的中国学生在学和无数学统计的人在加入考试大军..

"2是我去读统计，然后自己考精算师，这样我找工作的时候可以选择面大一点。如果不考精算，考SAS好不好找工作了。"

我觉得MM的第二条比较可行,如果MM还想继续读书--边读书边找机会的话,读统计不会让你错过精算的.而且对SAS精通只能帮你更容易找到精算的工作.这样如果两边的机会来了你都能抓住.

做精算，要一定会用sas吗？
