Bring enough insulin and other meds, -- unless she has the medical insurance here, or she is willing to pay for the office visit by herself, plus the cost of medications from Pharmacy here.

During her stay, try to maintain good blood sugar, around 150-200 everyday. A blood sugar meter is a must. Needs to poke herself before and after meals. Usually we test diabetic patients' HbA1C level every 3 months, whose value is expected to be below 6.5-7.0. I suggest she should get this test done at least every three months.

And before she comes here, go to an eye doc and a foot doc for a check-up, just to make sure she doesn't need any urgent intervention.
