For multivitamins and calcium supplements, I just take very regular pills. I take them every morning when I have my oatmeal+milk, and don't think they are hard to swallow. I guess if you take them with water, it is hard. Juice will be better to take them through your throat and esophagus.
If you really dislike them, try Centrum kids. I guess it is similar to what you have had in China. Available at all supermarkets. For calcium, there is a kind of calcium chocolate chews, very rich taste and not too much calories. Actually they can have other flavors, too, like orange, vanilla, etc. You need to take two pieces to be equally effective as a caltrate D pill.
