Gallbladder disease is strongly associated with family history. Most gallstones are from cholesterol. Some are also from bilirubin (dan3 zhi1) and calcium salts.

Women are more vulnerable to get gallstones, maybe related to estrogen level. To avoid the incidence, don't skip breakfast, watch your cholesterol level, and don't get overweight.

To reduce the calcium intake doesn't help a whole lot. Though it may helps to prevent kidney stones.
