You don't need a specialist right now. Family doc can take care of this.

He can put you on a medication called Synthroid. It is just thyroid hormone. And then follow up to check TSH and free T4 again, adjust the dosage until your TSH falls in normal value.

If you want to do more tests, ask about thyroid scan. But it is only needed when you have palpable nodules or lumps.
