My collection of nikon lens consists solely of small, cheap, and old lens, don't know if this list could be of any use but let's give it a try:
Nikkor 50/1.4 AIS (about $100 used)
My first lens, it's the perfect first lens (as with its AFD counterpart), lightweight and just fast enough, I don't use it very often now, gave it to my husband,

Nikkor 24/2.8 AFD ($139 used)
My first wide angle lens, perhaps a little too wide for my taste, but image quality is unbeatable, also gave it to my husband.. //blush

Nikon 100/2.8 E ($49 used)
My first and only long lens, the entire Series E lens is superb for a first film camera, can't beat the price and size, and this one is exceptional, too bad I never had much use for a long lens.

Nikkor 28/2.8 AIS ($119 used)
When I wanted a less dramatic lens than the 24/2.8 a friend recommended this, this is indeed the best nikon lens I've ever owned, only slightly larger than the 24/2.8 but still pocketable,

Nikkor 50/1.8 AIS ($50 used)
This is the closest thing to a "pancake lens", I can't tell the difference in image quality between this lens and 50/1.4 AIS, and seldom missed the extra stop.

Nikkor 35/2 AF ($160 from la.confidential!)
The last Nikon lens I've bought, and probably what I'll keep along with 50/1.8 AIS and 28/2.8 AIS, the 35mm focal lens is becoming the normal viewing angle for me now, the only draw back is that the focus ring travel is somewhat more than I'd like at close range, it's built more for an auto-focus camera, I might consider getting an F100 to make better use of it.
