I recently got an offer from a company and I will request them to apply for H1B on March 8th (when the 20,000 H1B quota for 2005 becomes available). I am currently working at a university with H1B.

My questions:

1. Can I leave my current university position but still legally stay in the once the company files H1B for me (no approval yet)?

2. Can I start my new position without my new H1B approval?

3. Is 14-day a guarantee to get H1B approved?

Thank you very very much for your kind help.

1. H1b at University doesn't use H1b quota, while the new job in company does. therefore, before your case is approved you can't leave the university, as in case u don't get the new H1b, you will be out of status.

2. Obviously no
