During her keynote presentation at the NeurIPS conference, Dr. Rosalind W. Picard displayed a slide that

highlighted an example of poor practice, specifically referencing a "Chinese" student. Unlike other slides

that did not mention any specific nationalities or ethnicities, singling out "Chinese" raises concerns of

discrimination against that particular ethnic group. I am deeply troubled by this discriminatory messaging

from a keynote speaker at such a prominent event, and I hope that MIT, as a diverse institution, will not

condone such behavior moving forward.
