As the iPad 3’s March 7th release date creeps closer, we’ve seen several different photos of various parts, but this weekend, MIC Gadget managed to get its hands on all on several iPad 3 pieces to give a more complete glance at what Apple’s new tablet will look like.
MIC Gadget obtained the front glass, rear shell, and a few third party cases, and put all of the pieces together in a handy video.
There are no internal parts shown, but the casing reveals a thicker, but more tapered shell, and a larger camera lens. The iPad 3 will be slightly thicker (1mm) but due to the tapered design, it may actually seem thinner than the iPad 2.
The good news? Your Smart Covers will still work with the iPad 3. The bad news? Your standard iPad 2 cases aren’t going to fit very well. According to MIC Gadget, there will be several third party iPad 3 cases available at launch, and the cases that they received matched up with the parts.
MIC Gadget is also claiming that the iPad 3 will not feature LTE support, but that it will come equipped with Siri integration. We’ll find out if the site was right this Wednesday, when Apple reveals the iPad 3 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
