请教 jms 一个跳槽时的身份问题

4月份的opt,申请了今年的H1b，12月生效，估计8月就能收到approval.如果9月份跳槽去另外一家公司，身份有没有问题呀？

需要再申请H1b吗？还要再占名额吗？

有H1之后换公司不占名额，但是要办transfer。

h1生效前跳槽的情况不清楚，最好问律师。

h1生效后，而且在前一家公司做了几个月，有证明，工资单什么的，跳槽时可以transfer h1b.

I think you should wait until H1B starts which is December as you said. If you change the job in Sept, you won't be able to transfer H1B and you will have to reapply. Try to confirm with the attorney and don't quit the current job unless you get the clear answers.

I only know the basic rule:

before you change your job, make sure you/your attorney send out the h1b transfer application out with a fedex delievery receipt in your hand.

I am not sure about new H1B. But here is what happened to me. I decided not to wait for the offer from Company A, and took the one from Company B. I did H1B transfer from old job to company B. A few works after I sent out the H1B transfer, offer from Company A arrived. My attorney filed another H1B transfer for me, not sure from which to which.

After I wrote down the above, I realized my experience might not be helpful at all.

Check with your attorney or your office of international office. I bug them once in a while. :)

if ur H1B starts dec, and u change job in sep,

u need to apply for NEW h1b again and need quota too....
