I think most employment contract has something like "employment at will", meaning either party can terminate the employment. But for professional courtesy, you usually give the employer two weeks' notice. You could certainly choose not to do so if you wish.

我们公司好像是,如果要你走的话当场就让你收拾东西走人了,另外给1000块补偿好像。如果你辞职的话,你也可以选择当场走人,,但是一般都会提前通知。我本来也觉得应该提前2个礼拜,但是现在发现美国人都是提前1个礼拜甚至就提前3天
Congrats on the offer. Though you have no legal obligation to stay after giving your resignation, two weeks is generally suggested as a matter of courtesy to the employer to transition any unfinished work to others. Of course, if u are moving to a direct competitor, typically you will be asked to leave right away. I would give two weeks notice, u don't want to burn any bridges, it's a small world, you may cross path again with your boss/coworkers.
