Many companies send out recruiting invitations by asking you to join them for things like BBQ, bowling, tail-gating, etc. 

So I am wondering if any of you guys have attended anything like this.  Is it really helpful for you to get to know the company and the recruiting people?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Did they hire you already?

If yes, it doesn't matter if you ignore these invitations. Just be polite when you refuse them.

If not, this is a good opportunity to market yourself.
