你难道没有工卡?
Most big companies don't care that 2K. But anyway you have to wait until 10/01. I guess there is no hurry. While using OPT you don't need to pay social security tax which will save you a lot of money. What I did last year is asking the attorney to set the H1-B date 6 months later (that's the longest period from the date you submit your petition to the effective date).
Enjoy the pay check
Because I heard this year's quota being used really fast, my opt ends at the end of September, I just want to make sure that I could get my H-1B before that. Although it will begin to be effective on Octorber. So even my H-1B gets approved now, I will still wait until Octorber 1st to work using H-1B.
As for the social security and medicare tax, I have been an F1 for more than 5 years, so need to pay these things even during OPT. That's what I heard.

Really? I'd been in F1 for almost 5 years and I didn't pay social security and medicare last year. I've got my tax return. Maybe I'm lucky
Then go ahead for the premium. My husband's company filled premium for him two weeks ago. If everyone fills premium, you'd better do that too.
